Several Beachy Amish workers began an agricultural aid project in El Salvador in 1962 under Amish Mennonite Aid sponsorship. Evangelization produced a local congregation by 1968. The church has 10 congregations and about 200 members. Other congregations related to this group are in Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the United States.
