Elmer A. Martens (Ph.D, Claremont Graduate School) is Professor Emeritus of Old Testament and President Emeritus of Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, Fresno, California (now Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary). He has taught in seminaries and colleges in Japan, India, Korea, Russia, Kenya, Brazil, Congo, Canada, and in the United States at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Chicago), the Southern Baptist Seminary (Louisville) and Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena). He is editor (with Gerhard Hasel and Ben C. Ollenburger) of ''The Flowering of Old Testament Theology'' (Eisenbrauns, 1992), and recipient of an honorary volume edited by Jon Isaak, ''The Old Testament in the Life of God's People'' (Eisenbrauns, 2009).
