+ | Sheila Klassen-Wiebe grew up on a farm in southern Alberta and was nurtured into faith in the Coaldale Mennonite Church. She earned a BA (History) from the University of Manitoba, a BTh from Canadian Mennonite Bible College (Winnipeg, Man.), and her MDiv from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries (Elkhart, Ind.). She completed a PhD in Biblical Studies at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va. Sheila serves as Associate Professor of New Testament at Canadian Mennonite University. She has been teaching at CMU, and before that at Canadian Mennonite Bible College, since 1993. Prior to coming to CMBC/CMU she taught at Swift Current Bible Institute (Sask.) and Elim Bible Institute (Altona, Man.). Sheila is enthusiastic about making the Bible come alive for people, both in university and church settings. Her home congregation in Winnipeg is Charleswood Mennonite Church, where she is actively involved. She and her husband Vern have three adult daughters. When she is not working, Sheila finds joy in getting her hands dirty in the garden, walking in the forest, making decadent desserts, and spending time with family and friends. | ||
